Midway and Epic Games are currently hard at work making Unreal Tournament 2007. The game is scheduled to launch late 2006. The game made its first public showing this year at E3, and from the look of things, it is going to need some serious high-end machinery to play.
Vehicles are back in action in this version, and a new Conquest mode is making full use of them. In this mode, multiple battles on different maps will be going on simultaneously, and the landscape will alter as bases are captured.
A new voice system is also going to be featured in this version, and it will allow players to give orders to human teammates and control AI teammates at the same time.
Single player modes will play a big factor in Unreal Tournament 2007 as well. All the popular game types will be included, like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, etc. There is also going to be a single player tournament mode that pits players against AI contenders who are almost as twitch-fast as their online counterparts.
Unreal Tournament 2007 is coming together nicely, and it is definitely going to be one of the biggest first person shooters of 2006. Look for it early next year. |
