Futura Max MouzPad
Score: 90%
Developer: LapWorks, Inc.
Device Type: Accessory
Compatible With:

Function:

Futura Max MouzPad is the follow up product to LapWorks' smaller MouzPad, and this one is designed to be much more effective for users who need a lot of mouse space quickly (namely, gamers).

The Max MouzPad is now 9x11 inches in size, which definitely adds a considerable amount of space, but doesn't cause the whole setup (the MouzPad and Lap Desk) to feel off balance, which could have been a problem.

Performance:

The Futura Max MouzPad seems to have a few new features that also add to its performance, or more specifically, the usefulness of it in situations where you will be using more rapid movements with your mouse (like FPS games). The MouzPad has a series of teeth on the top and bottom that are designed to run the wire of your mouse through in order to keep it from getting in the way.

The other alteration that can help is that there is also a raised ridge that will keep your mouse on the MouzPad if you let go of it and the setup is tilted.

Other than these added features (including the larger area), the Max MouzPad has all of the benefits of the previous product including sturdy construction, responsive surface for your mouse and portability.

Features:
  • Snaps On/Snaps Off
  • Utility Holes
  • Use Left or Right-handed
  • Teeth to Weave Your Wired Mouse's Cord Through
  • Cupped Rim to Keep Your Wireless Mouse Steady

Drawbacks & Problems::

Futura Max MouzPad seems to have fixed many of the issues that the smaller model had, without introducing any real problems. My main complaint about the MouzPad was the lack of mouse space, and I played parts of the same games during this testing that I did last time and didn't notice the issues, so it seems the few three inches added to the width and two to the height really made a lot of difference.

If you've picked up the Desktop Stand and haven't yet grabbed something to put your mouse on, then this is the MouzPad to buy. As for those that have already purchased that standard model, it's up to you to decide how much the space constraint is an issue for what you do on your laptop.
