LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu: Season Two starts off where Season One left off with the defeat of the Great Devourer and goes all the way to the prophesied fight between Lloyd, the Green Ninja, and his father, Lord Garmadon.

Season One ended with the Ninja teaming up with Lord Garmadon in order to defeat the giant snake awakened by the Serpentine and this season opens with the massive cleaning effort that resulted from the fight. Oddly enough, it seems that Garmadon has somehow gotten all of the credit for the defeat of the Great Devourer and while the citizens of Ninjago City recognize the Ninja's effort in the battle, they don't seem to give the four fighters the attention that should be due.

Meanwhile, the Ninja have some other issues - they have no place to live and nowhere to train their new pupil, Lloyd Garmadon, the future Green Ninja. They rent out a small apartment and get the permission from a local dojo owner to use his studio for training, but they don't have much downtime before the various bad guys surrounding Ninjago City start to stir up trouble again. First, a shipful of dead pirates are brought back to life when Lord Garmadon reforges the four golden weapons into the Mega-Weapon capable of granting wishes. While these pirates are only in the show briefly, they do lay the groundwork for a much bigger plot as hints of another continent off the coast of Ninjago start to show up.

Armed with the new wish-granting Mega-Weapon, Garmadon tries several strategies to keep the four Ninja from training his son. While Lord Garmadon doesn't want to face Lloyd in battle some day, as prophesied, he doesn't want the kid killed. One attempt turns the four Ninja into kids, but the results of making them full grown again also makes young Lloyd an adult. It seems that Lord Garmadon's effort to stall the final fight might have actually caused it to happen much sooner.

Another plot has Lord Garmadon going back in time to stop Kai from joining the Ninja. The results of this particular plot leaves the Mega-Weapon destroyed, but Lord Garmadon seems to have disappeared. When he next shows up, it will be on the shores of the aforementioned other continent which seems to be controlled by some ancient evil that has been waiting for Garmadon to show up and put its plan into motion.

While Garmadon starts exploring his new land, the Ninja have other issues to deal with. For one, the mess that the Great Devourer has left seems to have the ability bring some old stone army statues to life. What the Ninja don't realize is that this is tied into the events that Lord Garmadon is putting into motion. One bit of good news is that they are now joined by Lloyd's mother, a woman who has spent many years trying to learn everything she can about the prophecy since it talks about both her son and her husband.

When the second, dark continent becomes noticed by the inhabitants of Ninjago, the show starts on a fast-paced adventure that has all five Ninja (the main four and Lloyd), Master Wu, Misako (Lloyd's mother) and Nya (Kai's sister) journeying to the other land and discovering just what Lord Garmadon is up to. In the other land, they will discover a friend long thought dead, learn of a new way for the four Ninja to regain their elemental powers, and find out just what this whole Green Ninja prophecy really means. The question is, when the ancient evil known as the Overlord finally makes its plans clear, can the good guys stop it before it finds a way to turn the whole world evil?

I've been enjoying this series since it started. Sure, the show is a thinly veiled advertisement for a line of LEGO products, but it is still a fun show with enough goofy comedy to appeal to pretty much any kid and enough amusing smarter humor to keep adults entertained. If you picked up the first season of this show, then LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu: Season Two is a good followup product (especially on Blu-ray), but if you already picked up the first half of this season in the LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu: Rise of the Green Ninja, then you might be in a bit of a bind since there isn't any evidence of a release containing this season's last six episodes.
