Graphics & Sound: NFL Blitz 2000 has great graphics. The graphics are one of the best things about the game, although the flaming football is a bit hard to deal with. The sound is another high point to NFL Blitz 2000. The players talk trash and insult their opponents after a tackle or sack. When the players are hit hard, they grunt and ache. The fans boo and cheer for plays, and the commentator calls the game since there are no refs.
Gameplay: There are four different kinds of gameplay in NFL Blitz 2000. They are Arcade, Season, Tournament, and Play Editor. Arcade mode is when you and your team face off against an opponent for bragging rights. It’s good to play this mode with more than one person. Tournament is when you and up to seven other players compete for the Blitz champion title. In Season, you play 17 weeks of football and try to win the Super Bowl. You can use the Play Editor to create your playbook and then practice your new plays. Some new features in this installment of Blitz are ‘Create a Play’ and ‘On Fire Mode,’ which makes your player perform well. There’s also the all-new Trivia Questions for NFL fanatics.
Difficulty: There are three different difficulty settings on NFL Blitz 2000: Easy, Medium and Hard. They are all extremely hard. It is almost impossible. I suggest inviting a friend over and beating him.
Game Mechanics: Blitz 2000 is one of the most fun football games I’ve ever played. No matter who you are, you will enjoy this game. Tackling is hilarious! The defender might pick you up and body-slam you, or pull a German suplex move on you. Just about any wrestling move could show up in this game. That’s right, wrestling on a football game. When a player is down on the ground, you can do a variety of moves on him like an elbow drop or a splash leg drop. A lot of fun here. Also, with the new Blitz passing mode, you only have to use one button, making it easier. Obviously, NFL Blitz 2000 is a cool addition to any football fan’s game collection.
