Scarface: The World is Yours: What if Tony Lived? Company: VU Games Scarface: The World is Yours will let you play as the Cuban drug kingpin, Tony "F***ing" Montana, as he escapes from the mansion shootout that does him in at the end of the cult film, and has him rebuilding his empire and taking revenge on Sosa. As the druglord on the rise again, Montana must meet with old contacts and convince them that he will take over again. He must go around Miami making small drug deals and getting people to join his gang and slowly build up his capital. After you have your money, then you can start going after the women and then finally, you will be able to take on the world. Not only will Montana have to reclaim turf that once was his by cleaning out rival gang-nests, but he will have to buy access to his mansion back from the dirty vice cops and launder his money through various banks. As Tony's empire gets rebuilt and the cash really starts flowing in, he will be able to buy exotic art and goods that help to increase his reputation. Montana will be able to buy everything from Ming vases to Ghengis Kahn's armor. Also available for purchase are a wide variety of top-of-the-line cars from the late 70's to early 80's. Running drugs is a hard business. Early on, Tony will have to buy drug fronts where his employees will be able to easily distribute his product after he gets it from the suppliers. Eventually, Tony will not only own most of Miami, but he can also own several islands where his product is being grown. Purchases like this make the overall process of getting the coke and putting it into the hands of his fronts cheaper, but buying up one of these islands is no small feat. Radical Entertainment really wanted to let the player feel like they were playing as Tony Montana, and not just some random drug lord with Al Pacino's face, so they made a point of putting certain characteristics into Scarface that made the character Montana. One of the main aspects is Montana's constant taunting of his opponents. During the movie, he shouts out expletives to the people he is mowing down. His colorful language made the film one of the most obscenity-ridden movies of all time, and to follow up with that, you can shout out a huge array of your own taunts while in the middle of a shootout. But why would you want to, besides the crude-comic value, of course? Because as you do, you fill up a meter and once this meter is maxed out -- you will go into a blind rage that lets you kill everything in your path. The other aspect of Tony's personality that the development team really wanted to bring to The World is Yours is Montana's sense of morality. Tony never hurt anyone that didn't have it coming, at least as far as he was concerned. Because of this, you won't be able to shoot at innocent bystanders. Radical also wanted to make sure The World is Yours felt like a true sequel to the movie, so they got screen writer David McKenna(Blow, American History X) to develop a script that would show not only how the drug business of the time was done, but also what Montana would have to do in order to regain control of his empire and his world. Scarface will ship with a much deserved ESRB rating of Mature.
